Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
The United Michigan Muslim Association ("UMMA", "we", or "us") operates this website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
We collect information when you fill out a form on this site. This includes:
- Program and camp registration: your name, email address, phone number, age, gender, T-shirt size, and emergency contact details. Some registrations also ask about medical conditions, allergies, dietary needs, and photo permission.
- Newsletter sign-up: your name and email address.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or phone.
Donations and purchases
Donations and shop orders go through third-party payment processors, such as Zeffy and PayPal. These services collect your payment details directly. We do not see or store your full card number. Each processor handles your data under its own privacy policy.
Information we collect automatically
We use Google Tag Manager and related analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site. These tools can collect your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring site. They might use cookies to do this. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How we use your information
- To register you for programs, camps, and events, and to send you confirmation emails.
- To keep participants safe, including contacting emergency contacts and planning for medical needs.
- To send you newsletters and community updates, if you sign up.
- To process donations and issue receipts.
- To answer your questions and improve the website.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run our programs. These include Google (for registration records and email), our payment processors, and our website hosting provider. We might also disclose information when the law requires it.
Photos and media
We sometimes take photos and video at UMMA events and share them on this site and on social media. If you do not give photo permission on a registration form, we make a reasonable effort to leave you out of published media. Contact us to ask us to remove a photo of you.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13. A parent or guardian must register a child for youth programs. If you think a child gave us personal information without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention and security
We keep registration records only as long as we need them to run the program and meet legal or record-keeping duties. We limit access to staff and volunteers who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the internet.
Your choices
- You can unsubscribe from our emails with the link at the bottom of any newsletter.
- You can ask us to view, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
Changes to this policy
We might update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Read our Terms of Service for the rules that govern use of the site.
